3 Effective Ways To Reduce A Double Chin Without Resorting To Surgery | Harbour Medispa

# 1: Remove A Double Chin Permanently With Fat Dissolving Injections

Fat Dissolving injections are the only non-surgical solution to reduce fatty deposits under the chin which gives us the age-old problem of the double chin or what is sometimes referred to as “turkey neck”. At Harbour Medispa Hamilton we have been using this treatment for many years with excellent results! It is quick, relatively painless, and has an almost 100% patient satisfaction rate.

This TGA-approved product is administered in clinic after a thorough consultation with your cosmetic practitioners to see if you are a suitable candidate.  The medicine contains a substance called deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body.  This acid destroys fat cells by breaking down the fat cell membrane wall. The product is directly injected into the area underneath the chin with little to no pain as the area is pre-numbered with anesthetic cream and ice.  This revolutionary treatment takes less than 10 minutes to perform in the clinic and a very fine needle is used. The fat cells rupture and swell and the body flushes them out of the body through normal processes.

2 to 4 reatments are normally recommended for the most optimal results for each patient, depending on the amount of fat present.

– Non-surgical treatment
– Safer and less invasive than full surgeries
– Minimal discomfort
– Minimal recovery time
– Affordable and more cost-effective

This treatment is suitable for patients who are healthy and already at a fairly stable weight, and who are NOT severely overweight or obese. Fat-dissolving injections are designed to target specific and localised deposits of fat.  These are problem areas that patients have been otherwise unsuccessful in removing on their own through diet and exercise.

# 2: Try Face Yoga To Tighten The Area

Regular practice of doing a set of face yoga – exercise for the face – can work wonders to reduce not just the double chin bulge but tighten loose muscles, improve blood circulation and potentially discourage facial wrinkles and creases. Easily completed while performing any sedentary activity such as watching television, face yoga is a worthwhile solution to consider if you are averse to medicines, provided you keep practicing on a regular basis. # 3: Use Make-Up To Conceal A Double Chin

Darkening the area under the chin with make-up creates an illusion of the double chin having receded significantly. Use a blusher or a foundation that is a few shades darker than your face. Apply the blush right under the chin, and on the jawline, making sure the color does not extend down the neck. Please remember to blend thoroughly when you draw a sharper V-line shape on the jawline. Finish off with a subtle layer of highlighting powder or cream just above to make the light-and-shadow effect even more pronounced.

Are you struggling to get rid of fat from problem areas despite exercise and diet?

Are you annoyed by a double chin, belly fat, or some extra inches on your sides? Injections of fat-dissolving medicine will let you achieve what no training can will – localized fat burning.

Many people struggle with persistent excess fat in certain areas despite maintaining a healthy weight, a healthy diet, and exercise regimen. These problem areas may differ from person to person depending on genetic predispositions and gender. Regardless of their placement, they can be a cause of dissatisfaction and insecurities. A variety of substances have been developed to target these issues. Injected into the adipose tissue, they stimulate the breakdown of fat cells, making it possible to get rid of stubborn fat without low-carb and low-fat diets.

Benefits of using injection fat dissolving injections:

  • reduction of the double chin
  • reduction of thigh circumference (reduction of fat tissue on the thighs)
  • waist reduction (reduction of fat on the abdomen and back)
  • removing ‘love handles’
  • removal of ‘pelicans’ (reduction of fatty tissue in the arms)
  • modeling problem areas
  • removal of rollers of fat on the back and around the armpits
  • removal of the fat roller below the bra underwires
  • reduction or removal of cellulite (after using appropriate preparations)

Mechanism of fat dissolving injections

Fat-dissolving injections are based on the acceleration of fat breakdown by means of special substances (such as sodium deoxycholate, phosphatidylcholine,  carnitine or caffeine or special peptides) or their mixtures. During the treatment, they are injected directly into the adipose tissue. Intentional inflammation develops and soon afterwards triglycerides are hydrolyzed into fatty acids and glycerol, which are then removed from the body through the bloodstream.

Hydrolysis of triglycerides in adipocytes (fat cells) is a process that occurs naturally in the body during exercise, for example. It is very important to use an easily digestible diet during the series of treatments (preferably using a negative caloric balance) to relieve the liver and prevent the re-formation of fat (lipogenesis). Physical exercise done during the series of treatments increases the effectiveness of the method as appropriate hormones responsible for the hydrolysis of fats are produced.

Indications for fat dissolving injections

  • sides,
  • pelicans (fat on the shoulders)
  • a layer of fat on the abdomen,
  • double chin,
  • thighs,
  • fat under the bra underwire (we do not inject under the armpit area or around it)

Injection of fat dissolving injections is perfect for body contouring, especially in the case of small areas with the problem of fat deposition. At this point, it is important to note a very important fact – fat dissolving injections are not used for weight loss and are not a therapy suitable for people with obesity. It is intended for local fat loss from problematic areas in people with normal body weight or slightly overweight.

Contraindications to fat dissolving injections:

  • obesity
  • taking anti-inflammatory drugs
  • taking anticoagulants
  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • blood coagulation disorders
  • allergy to ingredients contained in the preparation
  • severe liver and kidney diseases
  • autoimmune diseases
  • Cancer
  • active infection
  • skin diseases
  • tendency to scarring
  • unrealistic expectations

Advantages of injection lipolysis:

The undoubted advantage is that the fat dissolving injection treatment is minimally invasive. In addition, it has a short recovery period and, unlike liposuction, does not require exclusion from daily activities.

How long do the effects of fat dissolving injections last?

The effects of injection lipolysis usually last for 2-4 years, and for customers who care about a healthy diet, even much longer.

Duration of the procedure

The treatment lasts, depending on the size of the area, from 30 minutes.

When do the effects of fat-dissolving begin to become visible?

The first effects appear a few weeks after the first one. The final effects can be observed approx. 2 months after the last treatment session.

The course of the procedure

After cream anesthesia, the skin in the treatment area is disinfected. Then, using a thin needle, the treatment formula is introduced into the adipose tissue. The punctures are made approximately every 1-2 cm.

The appearance of the skin after the treatment

After the treatment, the skin is red; there is swelling. Bruising may appear.

What can you expect after the treatment?

After the treatment, you may experience soreness, burning or itching in the treated area. You should not resort to taking non-steroidal painkillers (containing e.g. ibuprofen) – their use is not recommended because by reducing inflammation we will significantly reduce the effect of fat injections. Medicines containing paracetamol can be used if there is pain associated or not with the procedure.

How often to repeat the injection lipolysis treatment

A series of treatments usually include 3-4 sessions at intervals of 6-8 weeks. You can use it again as soon as you notice that the accumulation of adipose tissue begins in the area where it was carried out. In people who lead a healthy lifestyle, this should not happen earlier than after 2 years.

Preparations used for fat dissolving injections

All the formulas we use are registered as medical devices and have certificates allowing them to be used in Australia.

Not just anyone can provide an injectable aesthetic treatment in Australia. Treatments such as dermal fillers are typically prescription-only medications that may only be administered by registered healthcare practitioners.

But how do you go about finding an appropriate clinic?

Dermal fillers are a type of aesthetic treatment used to address the effects of facial aging, correct imbalances, and help individuals achieve the desired look. A filler containing anesthetic gel is placed under the skin, helping to achieve results such as lifting facial features, adding volume and filling lines or wrinkles. The procedure requires skill and training, and in Australia, dermal fillers are classed as prescription-only medication. Only a registered healthcare practitioner may administer them. If you wish to consult with a practitioner about a procedure, the following five steps may help you locate someone who is reliable and accredited.

1.    Start with a broad search

You may have seen a clinic spruiking their aesthetic treatments on Instagram or Facebook. However, booking an appointment purely based on a flashy advert is not advisable. Instead, make use of the digital age and conduct a thorough web search of clinics in your area. You may wish to use registers provided by healthcare professional bodies. A key prerequisite for any practitioner is that they are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, so visit their website to check.  If your friends and family have undergone aesthetic procedures, you may wish to ask them about their experiences. Would they recommend the healthcare practitioner they visited?

2.    Drill deeper

Once you have a shortlist of clinics, conduct some more research to see how they stack up. Thoroughly review the websites of potential contenders to find the areas in which they specialize and the qualifications of their staff. Make sure that the clinic strives for the highest standard by evaluating:

  • The level of education and qualifications at the clinic
  • The clinic’s focus on safety for the patients
  • That the products the clinic works with are registered in Australia

The clinic should also offer you a consultation before any type of treatment.

3.    Take a closer look at the products

It is important that the clinic uses products supported by strong clinical evidence and registered for aesthetic use in Australia. Such products will have gone through preclinical and clinical testing. Additionally, products that have been on the market for a number of years have additional safety margins, given they have stood the test of time.

4.    Make sure that the clinic’s view of beauty resonates with you

Beauty is to a large extent based on an individual’s personal sense of style, so it’s important that you evaluate a clinic not just on the qualifications of staff but also on its style and image. This should inform you about the practitioners’ approach to beauty. Make sure that you are comfortable with the clinic’s view of beauty and aesthetics.

5.    Book a consultation

Once you have found a clinic that feels right for you, book a consultation. Don’t rush your decision to proceed with a particular clinician. Only go ahead with the treatment if you feel comfortable with the environment in the clinic, the advice provided by the consulting practitioner, and the potential outcomes and risks.

At Harbour Medispa Hamilton we ensure our patients are well educated on any procedure, have had a thorough consultation and above all have an experienced cosmetic team that puts safety before profits.

The products we use are are the leading world brands that are approved by the Therapuetic Goods Administration Australia.

What Are Fat Burning Injections?

Phosphatidylcholine also known as lecithin or PPC is a normal compound found in our cell membranes.

All of the living tissues of the body are composed of cells. Humans have 100 trillion cells, such as red blood cells, white blood cells, skin cells, muscle cells, nerve cells and fat cells.

If cell membranes are suddenly given an extra dose of PPC, they become too fluid and fragile and break down. So, a dose of PPC into fatty tissue will cause the fat cells to break and open and release their fat.

PPC also facilitates the breaking down of the fat itself. The fat in fat cells is stored as a compound called triacylglycerol. PPC breaks down triacylglycerol. The three free fatty acids and the glycerol then get taken in the bloodstream to the liver where they are converted into bile acids and then eliminated through the alimentary tract.

PPC injections are safe and considered to be the strongest and most effective fat burner in the market today.

How It Works – PPC Fat-Dissolving Treatment?

The most common request is for abdominal fat treatment but the same principles apply to inner and outer thighs, arms, love handles, and double chin fatty areas.

PPC is given by injection using a tiny 30-gauge needle. This needle is smaller than blood-test needles and smaller than immunization needles. The injections are tiny, however, we eliminate the discomfort by using ice and lidocaine topical numbing cream.

After the injections, you will notice the treatment area start to swell a little. This is good, it tells you the treatment is working. The associated swelling and inflammation tell you the fat cells are breaking down and the body is working to whisk away the fat to the liver.

The day after the treatment the area will look inflamed like a local allergic reaction, again this tells us the treatment is working. The next day will be more comfortable and the following day you will see all these transient effects disappear. The fat reduction will start in the second and third weeks.

40% of patients notice a real change after two treatments.  After three treatments, around 70% of patients are noticing a real change.

Side Effects?

Aside from the effects mentioned above and the occasional bruise, there are no side effects because PPC is a normal physiological substance found in abundance in the body. Once PPC enters into the bloodstream it rapidly becomes diluted in your 5 litres of blood volume and mixed with your usual PPC floating in the bloodstream.

Long-term Side Effects?

Long-term side effects are difficult to imagine given that the substance is a natural part of our physiology.

The Extent Of Improvement?

Somewhere between 3 and 6 treatments should see you drop a full dress size around the waist. Combine with healthy eating and exercise for optimum results.

Is Fat Dissolving Treatment Permanent?

Yes it is permanent. However, f you overeat and don’t exercise you will gain weight (of course) but your shape will always be better than it would have been had you not had the treatment.

Cost Of Fat Dissolving Injections?

Our body fat treatment sessions for PPC treatments are $600 each or prepay two $990. You will find this very competitive.

Do Fat Dissolving Injections Work?

For many people, no matter how much they eat right, or exercise – they struggle to shift those fatty deposits in stubborn areas of the body. For some of us, it’s the little belly pooch, for others it might be their double chin or back fat. There are so many areas of the body that can keep hold of stubborn fat, and for many people, their confidence would sky-rocket if they could finally see an improvement.

Surgery is an obvious choice, but surgery is also expensive and scary. Going into a hospital, and going ‘under the knife’ is something many of us have nightmares about, and for a lot of people, it’s simply not an option they want to explore.

For those people, or for people who just want to explore a lower-risk option for losing stubborn fat – fat-dissolving injections are a great solution.

Lipodissolve is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction to remove localised fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise.

The main ingredient in Lipodissolve is phosphatidylcholine (PPC) PPC is a natural product found in our body and its main role is to emulsify and breakdown fat and cholesterol which is then removed by the body’s normal processes. The PPC that is used is derived from soybeans. It has been used for reducing fat deposits for about 10 years. In the medical setting, it is used to dissolve cholesterol plaques in heart disease and to dissolve fat embolism.

Lipodissolve is absolutely incredible for reducing fat and cellulite. The treatment consists of  a series of strategically placed injections to break down the fat cells which the body then absorbs and excretes.

What happens to the treated areas after Fat Dissolving Injections?

The skin over the treated areas tightens after fat dissolving injections. Once the fat has been removed, the appearance of cellulite improves. The fat cells are permanently removed and the results can be maintained for up to 4 years after treatment if the client maintains their ideal body weight. In a small percentage (5%) of patients, there is very little result from Lipodissolve treatment

Results are seen gradually over the next 3 – 4 weeks post treatment and maximum effect can take up to 12 weeks. The treated area(s) will look smaller, with less fat build-up. The treatment uses a special formula to break down fat cells in the treated area(s), and your body works to flush out the liquefied fat itself; therefore, depending on your own physiology, the process may take a short while, or a longer period of time.

There can be some redness, stinging and burning within 15 minutes to 2 hours after treatment and later swelling and bruising which peaks between 6-72 hours.

Redness and swelling to the treated area and surrounding tissues will be noticeable for 3-7 days or longer.

You may experience several post-inflammatory nodules. These indicate ongoing fat necrosis (a good thing) these will disappear within 30 days.
